About

Design/build, small enough to stay personal.

Bristol Construction has designed and built remodels and custom homes in Greater Sacramento since 2008.

Our story

Since 2008, one team from sketch to walkthrough.

David Bristol founded Bristol Construction in 2008 to do design/build work: remodels and custom homes where the person who draws the plan is accountable for how it gets built.

We stay small on purpose, small enough to deliver personal service. You know who is running your job, and they know your house.

Bristol Construction holds California CSLB General Building Contractor (B) license #921568, and is bonded and insured. You can verify the license on the CSLB website.

What to expect

How we run a job.

Eight things we do the same way on every project.

Preliminary design from your ideas

We start with what you want and what the house can do, and turn it into a preliminary design you react to, not a package off a shelf.
Fixed-price contracts with allowances

One price for the agreed scope, with clear allowances for products you’ll still choose, so the number you sign is the number you pay for that scope.
Progressive payments at completion of work

Payments follow completed work, not the calendar.
Regular updates

You hear where things stand throughout the job, not only when something goes wrong.
Hand-picked, tested specialty trades

Plumbing, electrical, tile and the rest are done by licensed subcontractors we’ve chosen and tested, not whoever is available.
Selections at every level

Product choices come at different price levels from local, national and online suppliers. Savings are passed on to you.
All at once or in phases

We can design the whole project up front and build it together, or in phases as your budget allows.
Traditional or contemporary

We build in the style that suits your house and taste, from cherry-and-granite traditional to clean-lined floating vanities.
