Materials

Materials we install

  1. Quartz

Engineered stone that doesn’t need sealing, in a wide range of solids and veined patterns, like the quartz in the galley kitchen below.

  2. Granite

Natural stone with one-of-a-kind movement. It’s usually sealed periodically, and we walk you through slab selection so you know what you’re getting.

  3. Solid surface

Seamless, repairable surfaces in many colors, useful where integrated sinks or curved edges matter.

  4. Tile & natural stone

Backsplashes, bathroom floors and shower surrounds. See bathroom remodeling.

  5. Hardwood & LVP

Real wood where you want it, and luxury vinyl plank where moisture, pets or budget say otherwise, run continuously through the room or the house.

Sourcing

Local shops, national suppliers, web pricing.

Product selection comes in different levels, and we source from local, national and online suppliers rather than one showroom. Savings on pricing are passed through to you, and the allowance in your fixed-price contract shows exactly what each choice costs.

Counters and floors usually go in as part of a kitchen remodel or whole-home project. Cabinetry, covered on our custom cabinetry page, is chosen alongside them so the palette works together.

Questions

Counter and floor questions

Quartz or granite?

Quartz is engineered, uniform and doesn’t need sealing. Granite is natural, more varied and typically sealed from time to time. Both are durable. We’ll set samples against your cabinets so the choice is about the look, not guesswork.

Is luxury vinyl plank as good as hardwood?

It’s different. LVP handles water, scratches and budget better; hardwood can be refinished and adds a warmth people pay for. We install both and will tell you which suits each room.

What’s an allowance?

It’s the amount in your fixed-price contract set aside for a product, like counters or tile, before you’ve chosen it. Choose below it and you save; choose above it and you pay the difference. No surprises, because it’s written down.

Can flooring run through the whole house?

Yes, and it’s often the cleanest way to finish a remodel. We handle transitions, thresholds and the subfloor work that makes it flat.
