The houses

A city built in layers.

Sacramento’s housing runs from bungalows near downtown, through the 1930s and 40s streets of East Sacramento and Land Park, to postwar ranch neighborhoods and newer suburbs. Each layer remodels differently: older houses tend to hide surprises behind the walls, newer ones have the space but not the finishes.

That’s why every project starts with a site visit. The age of the house tells us what to expect before we draw anything.

Permits

Who issues your permit in Sacramento.

Work inside Sacramento city limits is permitted by the City of Sacramento’s building department. A few neighborhoods around the edge fall under Sacramento County instead, so we confirm the jurisdiction from your address before we start drawing.

Kitchen, bathroom and addition work that changes walls, plumbing, gas or electrical generally needs permits and inspections. We pull them as part of the job.

Questions

Sacramento remodeling questions

Which parts of Sacramento do you work in?

All of them. See Land Park, East Sacramento and Sierra Oaks for neighborhood details, and the rest of the region on our service areas list.

Do you remodel older homes near downtown?

Yes. Older houses are where design/build helps most, because what we find behind the walls changes the plan. We’d rather discover it at the estimate than in the middle of the job.

Where is your office?

8344 Mediterranean Way, Sacramento, CA 95826. Call (916) 798-4827 from 8 to 5, Monday to Friday.
